Healthy Lesotho
Healthy People, Healthy Land
Healthy Lesotho works with local partners on improving the lives and land of the Kingdom of Lesotho, an independent country situated within South Africa.
How and what we do:
Developing and maintaining peer-to-peer relationships with organizations in the areas of health and sustainable agriculture to assist in providing resources to improve the lives and the land for the people of Lesotho.
Currently Healthy Lesotho is in collaborative partnerships with the Maluti Adventist Hospital in Mapoteng as well as the Leribe Agricultural Skills Training Center which is a tertiary agri-business school located in Pela-Tsoeu. Our partners in Maseru are helping with the design and building of the No-Till planter and other tools as well as putting on community demonstrations.
At Maluti Hospital, Heathy Lesotho works with staff on prioritizing and underwriting needed equipment for improving patient health and outcomes along with support for enhancing staff training.
At Leribe Ag School, Healthy Lesotho is collaborating with staff on enhancing the no-till, sustainable agricultural curriculum at the school as well as creating an appropriate Ag tech program, where staff and students design, test, and build farm implements that can be made (and repaired) in-country at a low cost and be distributed/sold throughout the country.
